The Vegan Pledge |
I'm Rick. Newly Vegan. Atheist. Proud West Virginian. Loyal Cubs Fan. Aspiring Comedy Writer. I read a lot. I live alone. I love playing old video games. I have problems saying no to women. I work for a law firm. I know jiu-jitsu. I run a very successful mixed martial arts blog. I’m probably too obsessed with sports. I am a foreign film buff, especially Korean films. For most of my life I ate mostly meat and fast food, but after extensive research I have quit cold turkey and I will chronicle my experiences here and also post random stuff I'm into. |

”However much Anti-Vegans try to discredit, mock, and trivialize veganism, their criticisms remain unreasonable and cannot touch the Truth of what this lifestyle is all about: compassion. But they will continue to try, and in doing so reveal their own fears and exaggerations rather than some…

Is this meant to be sarcastic? I sure hope it is because if it’s not, then:
I sincerely suggest you unfollow me, veganpledge. I’m guessing you followed me in the first place because i’ve been posting these cute animal and nature pictures and since you’re vegan and stuff I guess you liked it. But not all is love, veganpledge, not at all. Not when it comes to the isms that rule our society. These, like sexism, racism and ableism among others, are, to me, not about love. You say you read up on being vegan and the pros and cons (i’m guessing just the pros) of embracing that lifestyle. I respect you, it’s your choice and I don’t really give a fuck about what you put in your body. But the problem here is that quote. That silly quote, silly sexist little quote that you posted. By itself, it has the power to make me sick. It has the power to make me so mad at your sexist little ass that I abandon my regular happy self and, in the end, I’m turned into this asshole of sorts that will not wait to see if that quote is sarcastic or not because it is damn stupid even if it was. So yes, veganpledge, my advice to you is to unfollow my ass. This blog is constantly updated with feminist points of view, points of view I believe in whole-heartedly. And not only points of view, but it is full as shit of tough ass women. Tough ass sexy women of all shapes and colors who don’t give a fuck about turning your sexist ass on. So I guess your little “act like a lady or you turn me off” thing you got going there isn’t gonna bode well with my ideals, or the ideals of people who have functioning brains and hearts. So please, next time you publish your personal opinions, “read up on them” like you do with your vegan shit. Grab a book or two about male priviledge and feminism and educate yourself so that, instead of worrying so much about what you put in your mouth, you start worrying about the shit that comes out of it.

First off, the quote is meant to point out a personality that turns me off and that’s my opinion. Who are you to question my reading or research on a particular topic? Secondly, the quote is meant to describe women who constantly talk about how physically tough they are and how they can beat the shit out of someone. Obviously I understand that women are more mentally tough than most men.
You can go ahead and insult my intelligence by telling me to go grab a book because you apparently have broken down my entire life and views into one little quote, which makes you some kind of super genius. You don’t know who I am or what the hell I believe in.
Your extreme reaction to a quote that you misinterpreted and didn’t take the time to actually ask what it was about just shows me that you’re lazy and looking to lash out at anyone you can for some reason I don’t want to know.
So the next time you take the time to write a lengthy, boring, nonsense response, articulate your thoughts better and have a semblance of where the hell you’re coming from.
